The Calgary Distribution Center Manager will plan, organize, analyze, manage and control Distribution Center warehousing and transportation activities. Reporting to the VP, Development & Network Operations, the incumbent is responsible for supporting and maintain a high level of customer service through efficient and effective management of the Distribution Center operations, along with meeting the planned objectives.
• Coach, lead, evaluate and develop Distribution Centre employees;• Participate in the hiring of personnel, training, performance management and follow-up of employee files;• Manage the daily performance of the Distribution Centre employees;• Manage warehouse employees’ time sheets and work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels;• Ensure that all Distribution Centre employees perform their duties in compliance with all Health and SafetyPolicies, procedures, and regulations;• Develop a strong culture of Customer Service Excellence within the Distribution Centre;• Manage all Key Performance Indicators related to Distribution activities to ensure targets are achieved;• Manage the facility to ensure that all Distribution Centre equipment is maintained and in good working order.Operations management• Ensure, by being present in the workplace, to optimize the planning of communications and operations in order to obtain the expected performance from employees.• Manage and control daily operations of employees ensuring the accuracy and quality of the service offered to our customers.• Coordinate the reception and warehousing procedures for non-standard products and ensure follow-up of storage (in and out).• Ensure that daily operations follow standards, policies, and current productivity requirements in the Distribution Center.• Maintain a high standard of performance at each activity level related to the Distribution Center operations, such as: levels of service, accuracy of inventories, productivity of operations and quality of the service offered to our customers.• Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and make recommendations regarding the implementation of the best operations management practices.• Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the Distribution Center management team to maintain an effective and consistent level of management.• Work in collaboration with different departments of the company to provide service to both internal and external customers.
• Relevant education completed (logistics, supply chain, operations management)• 5 years combined supervision and operation planning experience • Knowledge related to a WMS system and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)• Bilingual (French & English) an asset• Excellent communication skills• Experienced in maintaining a great level of customer satisfaction• Ability to show efficiency, organization and adaptation in a fast-paced environment• Team player with organizational skills• Ability to lead, motivate and train personnel• Ability to work under pressure• Ability to lead customer service initiatives• Initiative & resourcefulness• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude• Professional management skills
