Reporting to the Director of Legal Affairs, you will play a key role in the Master Group’s growth. Your main responsibility will be to protect the Master Group by supporting various sales teams and the procurement team in developing solutions.As part of your duties, you will act as the right-hand person of the director of legal affairs, which will lead you to deal with various fields of law and work closely with the Master Group’s business lines.
• Managing commercial litigation and disputes and supervising the work of external lawyers in connection with commercial litigation and disputes• Acting as legal advisor for the various business lines• Protecting the company’s interests and assessing the company’s liability in potentially litigious cases• Providing advice about the risks and legal consequences of business decisions• Analyzing, writing and negotiating contractual agreements related to our business activities (e.g., supplier contracts) and any legal documentation relevant to managing of the company’s affairs (e.g., confidentiality agreement, leases, legal notices, corporate documents)• Supporting the continuous improvement of model contracts and legal processes with a focus on efficiency and streamlining• Supporting the director of legal affairs with the company’s various projects, including financing, governance and training• Actively participating in the due diligence process for procurement
• Relevant experience of 5 years acquired in business law in a company and/or firm• Experience in mergers and acquisitions is an asset.• Member of the Barreau du Québec, being a member of another bar is an asset• Outstanding oral and written communication in both French and English• Demonstrating collaborative leadership• Demonstrating autonomy, proactivity and resourcefulness• Ability to manage priorities and multiple files at once, sometimes within tight deadlines; working in a fast-evolving environment• Skill in building business relationships and playing a strategic advisory role focused on practical solutions
