Under the supervision of the Human Resources & Payroll Director, the incumbent will be responsible support the Human Resources Department with various HR tasks and lead projects. Moreover, the successful candidate will coach the HR Advisor and provide support managers and employees in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, policy and procedure compliance, attendance and workplace health and safety.Please note that this is a 1-year contract (Maternity leave), with a potential of leading to a full-time permanent opportunity in the future depending on business demands and the regional growth.
• Work collaboratively with business leadership to achieve desired business results.• Foster positive partnerships with the company leaders and employees and advise on Human Resources and employee-related issues.• Participate in the development of the HR Strategic Plan specific to achieving the optimal Employee Experience.• Act as a credible senior HR leader within the HR and management team, providing the necessary support, follow up, and leadership to ensure the team achieves desired results• Responsible for developing and implementing targeted organizational effectiveness strategies to support company’s vision and strategies that drive performance. These strategies will include high-level, complex project focused on performance Management, development strategy design, plans and execution.• Provide leadership to the Human Resources Advisor, support in development and coaching• Focus on continuously improving employee engagement.• Foster the development of an agile and innovative culture throughout the organization.• Coordinate activities and communications related to Human Resources initiatives and organization-wide events; and• Support Human Resources programs and activities and contribute to the ongoing development of the Human Resources Team and strategy.• Support the Senior Manager of the team in Mentoring and ensuring the professional development of the team, proactive intervention when necessary• Recruitment, selection and orientation of personnel, either through internal job posting or external search, within quality standards• Coach managers in employment related issues including human resource planning, performance management and discipline
• bachelor’s degree in human resource management or Industrial Relations, combined with 7-10 years of relevant experience• Human Resources Professional Certification (CHRP) and an active member of HRPA • Knowledge of and the ability to carry out projects including the process of planning, organizing, and managing tasks and resources to accomplish a well-defined objective. Previous experience working on performance management initiatives and projects• Previous experience with corporate acquisitions• Experience working in distribution industry• Knowledge of the ESA, OHSA, comprehensive knowledge of human resource practices and policies, particularly in the areas of employment law• Knowledge of the Health and safety standards• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)• Mentoring and coaching skills with a mature outlook to problem solving• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism• Ability to work proactively and positively as part of a team acting with a sense of urgency.• Strong priority management and organizational skills.• Ability to analyze and strong judgment.
