The company employs close to 950 dynamic and devoted individuals who serve the industry at over 44 branches and 4 distribution centres spanning from coast to coast.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Payroll, the main role of the incumbent will be to accompany and support the pan-Canadian team of business partners, consultants and HR coordinators working in the various regions and divisions of the organization.

He/she will contribute to the strategic positioning of the Human Resources department with the various stakeholders.

In addition, the Assistant HR Director, Business Partner will work closely with the Deputy HR director, Center of Expertise, to ensure consistency in the deployment and application of HRM practices and policies across the organization.

Principal tasks:

- Assist the HR Director in the management, execution and deployment of the department's main objectives.
- Participate in HR planning and orientation meetings within the department
- Participate in the strategic positioning of the regional HR teams under his/her supervision and provide recommendations
- Support the teams in the prioritization and coordination of activities and projects
- Act as an expert advisor and coach to his/her team: succession planning, organizational development, management and application of standards and policies, etc.
- Provide recommendations on strategic issues to client groups, in coordination with the assigned HRBPs
- Participate in the implementation, communication and follow-up of HR standards, practices and policies with client groups
- Maintain close links within his/her teams, client groups and HR sub-departments
- Collaborate with and supervise the HRBP team during due diligence and employee onboarding for acquisitions and organic growth
- Be involved in transformation and improvement projects within the department
- In support of the legal department, monitor and ensure compliance with laws and labor standards in the regions under his/her supervision
- Spokesperson for the mission, values and culture of the company in its interventions

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in industrial relations or human resources;
- 8-10 years in human resources management, including 3-5 years in a management position.
- Member of the Human Resources Professionals Association

Knowledge:
- Current labor laws
- Computer software (MS Office)
- Fluency in written and spoken English (pan-Canadian coverage) and knowledge of French
