The Director of GTA branches, responsible to manage the operational activities as developed by Master relating to the branches in the GTA region. Assist in the growth of the local market area by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals and objectives of the business. This position has accountability for executing all Master strategies and will work closely with the Regional Product Development Managers, Sales Managers, Development & Operations manager and key Master vendors to leverage their expertise to develop strategies to gain profitable market share growth. Responsible for the coaching, developing and encouraging excellence from a diverse team.
Execute all Master strategies • Develop & maintain good business relations with all internal & externals stakeholders• Liaise between support functions and branches to facilitate an efficient flow of information in both directions• Support the Director, Branch Development in the creation of operational processes (branch playbook) to ensure alignment on all operational objectives• Work with the Director, Branch Development for support and guidance in the implementation of the branch playbook• Support the marketing and ongoing digital experience • Ensure that branches follow corporate policies in a consistent and fair manner• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate branch operations• Assist in the development of the branch P&L, sales, margin, and expense budgets• Ensure branch managers control various budgets for contracts, equipment, inventory, supplies, etc.• Analyze each branch’s performance on a monthly basis and implement plans to address inefficiencies and/or operational issues as required• Work closely with Regional Product Development Managers, Sales Managers, and key Master vendors to leverage their expertise to develop strategies to gain profitable market share growth• Assist in the development and implementation of consistent product merchandizing strategies across the branch network• Study markets, trends and developments in the industry to keep up with information updates as well as competitors’ activities• Plan & oversee the annual physical inventory in all branches• Responsible for the coaching, developing and encouraging excellence from a diverse team• Work closely with the Branch Directors to manage staff related issues/concerns• Evaluate the needs of his/her team and make necessary recommendations• Participate in the recruiting process for all branch positions (ie, interviews)• Participate in the development and expansion of the branch network. (renovations, new locations, etc.) • Participate in the integration of new acquisitions (M&A)• All other related duties
• Post Secondary education in HVAC or a related discipline• Experience in HVAC/R products and industry (an asset)• Advance knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel)• Comfortable working with ERP software• 5 to 7 years experience • Management and Leadership experience• Experience in retail sales or technical related field • Strong leadership and people management skills through supervising, providing feedback and mentoring or skills development• Ability to think strategically and fully understand the long-range implications and consequences of business decisions• Ability to understand and link complex operational and financial issues• Ability to problem solve and provide variable solutions based on customer needs and company objectives• High level of commitment to exceptional customer service and experience• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Must be able to interact and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization• Good sales abilities and persuasiveness• Good judgment and decision-making skills• Ability to effectively manage time and perform in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment• Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment• Self motivated with strong interpersonal skills• Willingness to continually learn
