Reporting to the assistant controller, the junior financial analyst is a key player in producing information that helps decision-making. His or her main responsibilities are to ensure the accuracy of financial information in the financial system and then to analyze.

Principal tasks:

• Acting as an expert on the financial flow entries that are his or her responsibility, which involves understanding the processes in place that impact his or her financial flow entries, clearly documenting the workflow surrounding his or her financial flow entries and then mastering them
• Establishing budget variances for financial flow entries, performing the required analyses, making needed corrections to the accounting records and then communicating the explanations to the main stakeholders concerned
• Supporting ad hoc requests and analyses by creating and running reports, searching for information in the ledger, investigating transactions and communicating with other departments
• Contributing to the budget process based on the organization’s needs
• Contributing to year-end analysis, data requests and documentation for the year-end audit process

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Chartered professional accountant (CPA) designation is an asset.
• Knowledge of an ERP system is an asset.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel and key search functions (Knowledge of Power Query is an asset.)
• Being bilingual is an asset.
• Professional experience in a similar role
