The Director of Talent Management provides leadership on strategy, design and implementation of Master Group’s talent management programs. In partnership with the HR Leadership, HR Business Partners and Senior Leadership, this role will drive various aspects of Master Group’s talent related initiatives, including recruitment and onboarding solutions, talent reviews, succession planning, performance management and objective setting processes, organizational engagement surveys and assessments, and training and development needs. The Director of Talent Management will work with the HR Business Partnership team to create an organization-wide engagement strategy that will include appropriate surveys and metrics. This role will be responsible for identifying tools and implementing technology (as appropriate and necessary) that will attract and develop talent that is dedicated to our purpose, delivery of organizational strategic priorities and alignment to our core beliefs. With a focus on strategically identifying and retaining the talent needed to accelerate our growth. The Director of Talent Management reports to the Vice President of Human Resources. Direct leadership of Talent Acquisition and Change Management teams with continued focus on Culture related initiatives.
The Director of Talent Management must drive best in class HR/Talent processes which are simple to execute, flexible enough to address the needs of our various business units with cost effective recommendations. Strong collaboration with counterparts and business leaders is essential for success. Establish and implement initiatives and processes to champion a greater focus across the company on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) design and deployment of wide-reaching engagement initiatives that have demonstrably improved business performance. Leverage a people focused approach with a business mindset to drive critical organizational changes. Provides strategic, data-based insights and recommendations on our Performance and People Development initiatives that align to strong business outcomes/deliverables. Provide strong leadership, coaching and guidance to the Talent Acquisition and Change Management teams Drive the implementation of Learning and Growth initiatives to improve talent retention and development of key talent and critical leaders. Be the champion of Corporate Culture related initiatives Partner with the VP, Human Resources and the Senior Leadership team to facilitate Talent Review sessions as part of Succession Planning needs. Stay abreast of external best practices in Talent Management, Organizational Development and Effectiveness, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)
Bachelors/Master’s degree in Business Administration/Commerce, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviors, Psychology;Proven Change Leadership is a necessary skill to be able to support the changes associated with growth, acquisitions and company cultural integration;Minimum of 10 years of experience as a leader in talent programs;Demonstrated success in meeting aggressive talent acquisition targets and improving talent pipeline and bench strength;Strong communication skills including but not limited to negotiation, influence and consensus building to interface with employees/leaders at all levels within the organization as well as external vendors and agencies;Ability to set strategic vision and direction with the ability to design and implement related tactical plans;Proven prior leadership in successful talent management programs (including leading/facilitating talent reviews, performance management, succession planning);Previous experience in leading talent acquisition and talent development;Change management and organizational effectiveness expertise is a key requirement;Strong relationship building capabilities, including the ability to build and foster trust across the team;Self-directed, collaborative, and accountable; Proven track record influencing key stakeholders; Bias towards action and continuous improvement; Strong data judgment for influencing strategies; Ability to work effectively across all levels; Prior experience with partnering with Marketing & Corporate Communications to create an employer of choice brand for Master Group; Fluently Bilingual (French and English) is a definite asset, given our company history beginning in the Province of Quebec;Ability to analyze data, make recommendations and present findings; Prior experience in an HR Business Partnership role is preferred; Experience in Global or North American companies preferred. Travel Expectation: approximately 10%, depending on needs of the position primarily across Canada with periodic travel to the US)
