The Product Director will lead the product management of the categories they are assigned. They will bring their knowledge / expertise of the appropriate product and market, a willingness to learn and the ability to teach. They will collaborate with sales, marketing, and procurement teams. The incumbent defines and support market strategies for their categories and supports the after sales service.
• Be a category owner and champion by providing guidance to all teams about the categorychoice of products and market strategy.• Manage vendors relations and products offering• Developing and maintaining strong connections with suppliers• Identifying category strategies for different markets and aligning them with Master’s sale andgrowth strategies• Identifying competitive positioning for products, watching for new technologies, regulatorychanges, and monitoring market positioning• Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Pricing, Ecom, Warranty and other internal departmentsto achieve category success on the market aligned with Master’s strategy• Determine vendors initiatives to be realize and insure completion.• Define National and Regional training strategies aligned with customer and sales team needs• Represent Master with industry associations.
• 10 years of relevant industry experience• Advanced knowledge of the market for the category and its products• Expertise in Technical knowledge of the products represented and the competition• Fluency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with suppliers and Master employees based in our Ontario, Western Canada and Maritimes offices and interactions in French with suppliers and employees in our local Montreal and Ottawa offices)Qualities required:• Excellent technical skills for both products lines and their application• Good sales skills: Ability to convince, both with the sales team and external customers.• Good communicator and interpersonal relations capabilities• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines• Sense of urgency and sharp customer service• Autonomy in managing priorities and schedules• Demonstrated teamwork abilities• Ability to work well under pressure• Diplomacy, courtesy, and political acumen
