Senior Buyer - indirect spend

The indirect spend senior buyer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all indirect spending categories across our distribution company. This role is vital for ensuring cost efficiencies, sustainable supplier relationships, and that the company is obtaining the maximum value from its vendor relationships. #RefreshYourCareer

What you will accomplish with us:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
• Identify, assess, and prioritize indirect spend categories, including but not limited to utilities, facilities, marketing, IT, HR services, office supplies, and travel.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify and negotiate with potential suppliers.
• Lead RFP, RFQ, and contract negotiation processes to ensure the best terms for the company.

2. Cost Management & Reduction:
• Regularly review and analyze the company's indirect spending habits.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance.

3. Vendor Management:
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Resolve vendor disputes and issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Regularly evaluate vendor performance through performance reviews, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Collaborate with various departments to understand and fulfill their indirect procurement needs.
• Provide internal stakeholders with regular updates on category strategies, market trends, and supplier performance.

5. Process Improvement & Compliance:
• Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures related to indirect spend management.
• Ensure company-wide adherence to procurement policies and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Use technology and tools to drive efficiencies in the procurement process.

6. Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare and present regular reports on spend analysis, cost savings, and vendor performance.
• Use analytics to forecast trends and anticipate future procurement needs.

What You Bring to Our Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on indirect spend categories.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels.
• Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with Master employees and suppliers based in our offices in Ontario, Western Canada and Maritimes, and interactions in French with suppliers and employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
