As a Data Governance Specialist at Master Group, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance practices, policies, and procedures to ensure the accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance of our data assets. You will play a critical role in improving data quality and supporting decision-making processes across the organization.

What you will accomplish with us:

Data Governance Framework: Support implementation of a data governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and organizational goals.
Policies and Procedures: Maintain data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data consistency and quality.
Data Quality Management: Maintain data quality standards, monitor data quality, and coordinate data cleansing efforts.
Data Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, catalogs, and data lineage documentation to facilitate data understanding and traceability.
Data Stewardship: Support data stewardship activities throughout the organization.
Data Governance Audits: Conduct regular audits and assessments of data governance practices to identify areas for improvement.
Data Governance Tools: Participate in evaluating, selecting, and implementing data governance tools and software to support data management efforts.
Data Governance Communication: Reinforce data governance principles and policies with stakeholders, fostering a culture of data responsibility and create awareness around data quality.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices, and regulations.
Familiar with data governance tools and software
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Applications
Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with Master employees and suppliers based in our offices in Ontario, Western Canada and Maritimes, and interactions in French with suppliers and employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in business, finance or IT
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a data analysis, modeling or governance role
